Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Max, Canal+: which subscription to keep at the end of 2026?
Subscription prices keep rising and catalogs are scattered. Here's how to choose the right platform and pay less, without missing anything important.
Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Max, Canal+, Apple TV, Paramount+… Stacking every subscription quickly costs more than a movie ticket a week. And in recent years, most platforms have raised their prices, often several times. So which one should you keep?
Each platform has its specialty
- Netflix: the largest volume of original series and movies, documentaries and international productions (Korean, Spanish, French).
- Prime Video: a very large movie catalog, in-house series like The Boys, and often included with an Amazon Prime membership.
- Disney+: Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Disney. Essential with kids or for superhero fans.
- Max: HBO series, often among the most awarded (House of the Dragon, The Last of Us, Euphoria).
- Canal+ (in France): recent movies earlier than the others thanks to French release windows, sports and French originals.
The money-saving strategy: rotation
Rather than paying for everything all year, rotate your subscriptions:
- Keep one "core" subscription all year, the one you actually use.
- For the others, subscribe for a month when a series or movie interests you.
- Watch everything you want that month, then cancel and move on to the next.
Most platforms have no commitment: that's what it's for.
The real problem: knowing what's worth it
Rotation only works if you know in advance what deserves your month of subscription. Without that, you end up keeping everything "just in case". That's exactly what Ta Dose does: every week, the best of every platform, in one place.
