Shows like Stranger Things: 10 series to watch now it's over

Stranger Things has ended? Here are 10 shows that capture its mix of mystery, friendship and the supernatural, with platforms and number of seasons.

Stranger Things is over, yet it was still the most-streamed series of the first half of 2026 according to Nielsen. Plenty of people are rewatching it; others want something to fill the gap. Here are 10 shows that capture what we loved: the friend group, the mystery, the supernatural and a big dose of nostalgia.

If you loved the kid gang and the mysteries

  1. Dark (Netflix, 3 seasons, finished): a small German town, missing children, time travel. More complex, absolutely brilliant.
  2. Paper Girls (Prime Video, 1 season): four newspaper girls from 1988 thrown into the future.
  3. Wednesday (Netflix): supernatural mysteries and dark humour at a strange boarding school.
  4. Locke & Key (Netflix, 3 seasons, finished): a family, a house and magic keys.

If you loved the supernatural and light horror

  1. The OA (Netflix, 2 seasons): a young woman reappears after seven years, and she can now see.
  2. Yellowjackets: a high school soccer team survives a crash in the wilderness… and the secrets follow them into adulthood.
  3. The Returned (French series): the dead come back to a mountain town as if nothing happened.

If you loved the '80s vibe

  1. Stranger Things: Tales From '85 (Netflix, animated): the spin-off released in spring 2026 to extend the universe.
  2. The Goldbergs: the family-comedy version, 100% '80s.
  3. Everything Sucks! (Netflix, 1 season): a high school AV club in 1996, sweet and funny.

Which one fits your time?

  • A finished show to binge: Dark or Locke & Key.
  • A weekend: Paper Girls (8 episodes).
  • Pure nostalgia: rewatch Stranger Things from the start. About 34 hours for all 5 seasons.
